We" re excited to present this new and unique pairing
of banjo with orchestra! What a unique and out of the
box concept, and we're very pleased to be able to perform
with Ohio Artist banjoist Mr. Tony Ellis of Circleville,
OH.
Tony's music is wonderful, a bit folksy, a bit Appalachian,
and a bit complex, all at once. His tunes sit nicely with
the accompaniement of an orchestra, and on April 17, 2011
you will hear the WORLD PREMIERE of some of tony's best
loved tunes with the Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra!
We know of no one else in the US that has done this, and
we're really pleased to bring it to you this April--for
the first time, ever!
Fiddle giant Mark O'Connor also wrote a wonderful Americana
Symphony-which we'll perform in the second half of the
concert. It is a uniquely american symphony, completed
in 2007, and with twinges here and there of Aaron Copland.
The final movement is breathtaking!
Join us in Brown Chapel on April 17, 2011 at 7 pm for
some really awesome music and some brand new sounds--you'll
love them!
